The U.S. Forest Service has moved the Christmas tree permit sales to Recreation.gov this year. 2020 has been somewhat thrown for a loop by Warden Newsom and the draconian fake laws he has enacted in response to the mediademic surrounding Covid-19.

It only took 45 years, but the gray wolf has recovered. After being virtually eliminated from the lower 48 states by the early part of the 20th century, the gray wolf is back – and in HUGE numbers! Through a partnership of states, tribes, conservation organizations and private landowners, the once-endangered predator is now flourishing.
The U.S. Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region has taken three national forests off the regional closure order that came into force as wildfires spread throughout California due to the incredibly inept forest management (or lack thereof) of the California state government. Inyo, Sequoia, and Sierra National Forests were removed from the list.
Bears are a big thing (literally!) in Lake Tahoe. There’s a whole section of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife website devoted to the black bear!
Because they’re in the news so often up in Lake Tahoe, The CDFW has launched a new blog called “Bear Naked Truth” to provide accurate and up-to-date information on bear activity in the Tahoe Basin.
