Older Wranglers – from 1987 through 1996 – known as the YJ, replaced the CJ7. This is the first Jeep officially called the “Wrangler” by the parent company. These came in only one body style, offering a short wheelbase, wider stance, and the same leaf spring suspension of the CJ. This was the first attempt to make a more daily drivable Jeep. It drives like a truck with a really short wheelbase; it bounces from front to back and is good for short trips.
One of the great things about California’s Department of Fish and Wildlife and California’s Department of Food and Agriculture is that they offer some great classes, workshops, and information that is really well presented.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Forest Service, and Society for Conservation of Bighorn Sheep (SCBS) are looking for volunteers to assist biologists with a bighorn sheep count in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties at the end of February (February 29 through March 1st). It’s the last weekend of the month, and the event will go on Saturday evening and all day Sunday.
