Yosemite Conservancy Unveils its Outdoor Adventures for 2015

My favorite park group has just announced their outdoor adventures program for 2015!

Summer Camp for Grown-ups, Beginning Backpacking and Hikes to Rarely Seen Alpine Areas Are Among the Guided Outdoor Adventures Offered for Visitors to Explore Yosemite National Park

Yosemite Conservancy has unveiled a compelling line-up of Outdoor Adventures for 2015 with more than 60 programs for visitors to explore the park on guided adventures with local experts involving backpacking, photography, bird watching and more.

“Yosemite Conservancy’s Outdoor Adventures provide unique ways to see, learn and experience the park, and inspire people to care for one of the world’s natural treasures,” said Frank Dean, president of Yosemite Conservancy. “Visitors to the park are discovering that some of the best things to do involve organized small group adventures.”

American Hiking Society’s Volunteer Vacations sign-ups are open – HURRY to take advantage of some pretty great adventures!

The American Hiking Society has just announced that registration for the 2014 Volunteer Vacations season is now OPEN! They’re offering “more than 60 adventure opportunities” this coming year.  These slots can fill up fast (especially on some of the more interesting vacations) so don’t wait!  Discounted registration fees are now in effect.

If you’re not familiar with what the Volunteer Vacations program is, it’s a series of trail stewardship projects that take place across the country during some of the BEST vacation timeframes, that offer you the chance to give back to the trails you love. You can browse trips by state, difficulty level, accommodations, or timeframe. Remember: trail work experience is not a requirement; you only need a good attitude and the willingness to get a little dirty!

Explore Yosemite National Park With Outdoor Adventures Hosted By The Yosemite Conservancy

The Yosemite Conservancy has announced their line-up of Outdoor Adventures for 2013! There are more dates for popular programs, including backpacking trips to Lyell Glacier, Half Dome, and Clouds Rest. Family Camping Jamborees and Moonbow Photography continue to be popular programs!

“Professional photographers, artists, naturalists and historians lead our Outdoor Adventures to provide visitors of all ages and wilderness experience levels with an unforgettable experience in Yosemite National Park,” said Mike Tollefson, president of Yosemite Conservancy. More than 45 Outdoor Adventures are being offered in 2013 spanning the entire park geography. Each adventure is limited to 15 participants. Proceeds from Outdoor Adventures are poured into important restoration and protection work that Yosemite Conservancy supports in the park. Continue reading
