Ocotillo Wells Public Workshops in December

More than 85,000 acres of magnificent desert are open for off-highway exploration and recreation within the boundaries of Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area.  Ocotillo Wells SVRA is operated by California State Parks. To the south and east large tracts of BLM land (U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management) are also open to off-highway vehicles. The western boundary and part of the northern boundary of Ocotillo connect with the half-million acre Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, which is closed to off-highway recreation, but open to exploration by highway-legal vehicles along established primitive roads.

CA4WD Club’s High Sierra Poker Run 8/30 – 9/2 Sign Up Now!

The California Association of 4WD Clubs has posted details about their upcoming High Sierra Poker Run that taks place over Labor Day Weekend at the end of August:

Have you ever thought of running the Dusy Ershim Trail, but never had enough time to do it? We have the answer. The scenic Swamp Lake Trail offers the same beautiful scenery but can be run in one day, or you can enjoy it over a two-day period with the return of our overnight run. If you think the Swamp Lake Trail is too difficult, we have the scenic beauty of the Bald Mountain Trail with spectacular views of Shaver Lake.

Sierra Trek coming up August 8!

Sierra Trek is a terrific event hosted by the California Association of 4WD Clubs, Inc.  It’s the biggest fundraiser of the year, and an event that shouldn’t be missed.  It’s taking place near Truckee in Northern California from August 8th through the 11th at Meadow Lake.

Just running Fordyce Trail with a group that knows what they’re doing is WELL worth the trip!

Sierra Trek is the granddaddy of Cal 4 events. It is held in Northern California near Truckee. The event takes participants over the famous Fordyce Trail and the surrounding areas via SUV, ATV, modified 4×4 vehicles and dedicated trail rigs.

We are working hard to introduce new and fun activities for families that we know you will enjoy. You can still run the Fordyce trail with the confidence that the trail staff will make your adventure memorable!
