“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31, KJV
I can think of no better way to begin a journey – like this website – than with this particular passage of Scripture. Here, Paul is referring to the sovereignty of God in our salvation.
The second part – “If God be for us, who can be against us?” – is something that many Christians either don’t understand or don’t remember in times of crisis or when undertaking a monumental task. This is a great passage, because is shows the might and power of God; He isn’t going to give us whatever we ask for, nor is this an indication that we’re not going to meet with opposition. This passage acknowledges that you are going to have adversaries, you are going to face obstacles, and you will face the Enemy. God, however, is your proponent and – compared to your puny opponents – he’s in a completely different weight class. You are empowered by God and through him you can vanquish any foe, pass any obstacle, and overcome any enemy that may be in your way.
When you embark on a journey, put God first. He will give you grace, kindness and favor before you take even the first step on your travels.
